Quick start

Four steps, under five minutes

Pick your build

On Windows, take the 64-bit build. On a Mac, check whether you have Apple Silicon or an Intel chip first.

Extract and run

Unzip into a permanent folder — not the Desktop, not the root of your system drive — then launch v2rayN.exe.

Import a subscription

Subscriptions → Subscription group setting → Add, paste your subscription URL, then hit "Update subscription".

Turn on the system proxy

Select a low-latency server, then switch the tray icon to "Set system proxy".

What people usually want to know before downloading

Is v2rayN free?
Yes. v2rayN is free software released under GPL-3.0. Anyone charging you for the v2rayN application itself is running a scam. Note that the app ships with no servers — you supply your own subscription or add nodes manually.
Which build should I download?
Windows: the 64-bit build covers nearly every machine from the last decade. Mac: arm64 for M1/M2/M3/M4, x64 for Intel models sold before 2020. Linux: deb for Debian/Ubuntu, rpm for RHEL/Fedora, zip for everything else.
My antivirus flags it. Is that normal?
It is a common false positive for proxy tools, because they change system proxy settings and listen on local ports. Add the install folder to your antivirus exclusions. If you would rather verify independently, upload the archive to a multi-engine scanner.
It installed, but nothing loads.
Work through this list: (1) did the subscription update and is the server list non-empty; (2) does the selected server time out on a latency test; (3) is the tray set to "Set system proxy"; (4) is a browser extension hijacking your proxy settings; (5) is your system clock accurate — a drift over 90 seconds breaks the VMess handshake.
Do I need to bring my own servers?
Yes. v2rayN is only the client — think of it as a media player, where servers are the media. Use your own VPS or a third-party subscription service.
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows 10 and later (Windows 7 needs an extra runtime), macOS 11 and later, and mainstream Linux distributions including ARM64 and LoongArch64.
